Our school

On the annual School opinion survey, for the past two years parents and students have indicated that they are satisfied with the learning outcomes at Home Hill State School. Their satisfaction was above or equal to that of the State and Like Schools means.

Students learning outcomes are monitored using a range of internal and external assessment tools. Systemic data gathered from the year 2 net and years 3, 5 and 7 tests indicates that our learning outcomes in literacy and numeracy generally approximate or exceed the State and Like Schools means.

Student leaders are elected by their peers under staff supervision. They form the nucleus of a student council that, in conjunction with other classroom strategies, allows for student involvement in decision-making within the school. The student council are responsible for the management of HHELP (Home Hill Environmental Leadership Program). A Responsible behaviour plan for students encourages students to develop self-discipline within a caring environment.
