Home Hill State School is a Band 7 school with ten classes from Prep to Year 6 in the North Queensland Region. It is located approximately one-hundred kilometres north of Bowen and south of Townsville. The Bruce Highway passes through the township of Home Hill.
Home Hill is a rural farming community of the Burdekin Shire and is predominately a sugar cane growing district with a sugar mill. The district is made up of neighbouring townships of Ayr, Home Hill and other smaller centres. Home Hill is situated on the southern side of the Burdekin River and a short ten minute drive north across the Burdekin Bridge to its 'twin town' of Ayr.
At Home Hill State School, we value learning, develop positive relationships and establish high standards of behaviours in a safe supportive environment. Emphasis is placed on fostering favourable attitudes to learning and developing skills in literacy, numeracy and communication as well as those physical and social skills that will allow each child to take his/her place in the present and future society.
