Home Hill State School provides quality curriculum programs in the eight Key Learning Areas:
Instrumental music tuition in woodwind, brass and percussion is also offered to selected students from year 4 to year 6.
English, maths and science are defined by the Australian Curriculum and delivered through C2C (Curriculum to the Classroom) whole school curriculum and assessment plan.
Teachers plan, deliver and report on curriculum programs collaboratively through the clustering of grades and year levels. Our school year consists of a series of curriculum cycles involving planning, partnership meetings with parents, implementation, culminating activities, moderation, reporting and reflection. Four cycles unfold for each class each year and two in the Prep Yearsr. Student achievement is reported to parents through two face-to-face meetings and two written reports each year.
The staff pride themselves on their forward thinking and willingness to adopt new ideas, and Home Hill State School is recognized locally as leading in the successful implementation of PBL (Positive Behaviour for Learning). The organization of our school reflects our commitment to improving educational outcomes for all children and to work co-operatively towards this aim.
