On the 25th March, 1913, situated near the Home Hill railway a 'Tent School' was opened - a building about three feet off the ground with weatherboard sides and canvas blinds. This building was occupied until the new school was finished later in the year at the present site.
The school was initially built to accommodate one hundred students, along with a Teacher's Residence. Since many students rode horses to school, an approach was made to the Department in 1915 to secure an additional piece of land that is today the playing field.
Over the years, further classrooms were built to accommodate additional enrolments, along with a swimming pool, tennis court, new toilet block, janitor/groundsman rooms, undercover play area, tuckshop, Pre-School unit and resource and science centre. The school has undergone continuing facelifts, with the repainting of several buildings to bring them back to their original colours and the refurbishment of buildings to offer new modern learning experiences. Decorative artwork and paintings through out the school, create a very dynamic and engaging atmosphere and our immaculate school grounds are the envy of most.
